Unlimited Access to a Vast Resort

With the concept of "A place you can't fully experience in just one day," i+Land Nagasaki welcomes guests with a wide range of accommodation options and activities. Spanning approximately 82,500 square meters (around 250,000 square feet), the resort maximizes its expansive grounds to offer open rooms and restaurants overlooking the cobalt-blue sea, along with natural hot springs, heated pools, cycling, fishing, various sports facilities, and playrooms for kids. This is a resort that caters to guests of all ages, located on Iojima Island, Nagasaki City.

One corner of this vast resort is home to a café that transforms into a self-serve bar, the Fisherman’s Lounge, after 3 PM. After 9 PM, it turns into an exclusive spot for adults only. With a variety of alcoholic beverages available, guests can freely enjoy the bar with its dartboards and billiard tables as often as they like after paying the entrance fee.

And greeting guests at the lounge entrance is the BCL-QR1.

No More Losing Your Key

Previously, the entrance to the Fisherman’s Lounge was secured with a four-digit code lock. However, there were recurring issues such as guests losing the passcode cards provided at check-in or forgetting the passcodes amidst a plethora of activity information.

To solve these issues, the resort introduced a QR code unlocking system. "With most guests now carrying smartphones, we thought it would be convenient for them to unlock the door this way," said the team behind this innovative system.

Simplicity for Ease of Use

Among the many smart locks available, the QR1 was chosen for its simplicity. Its clean, minimal design leaves no room for confusion—guests can easily unlock doors by simply scanning the QR code. Even after more than six months since its introduction, there have been no reports of guests struggling with how to use it.

Previously, malfunctions often caused inconvenience to guests, requiring staff assistance. However, with the QR1, such issues have been eliminated, and there’s no longer a need to call for staff during the night, according to a staff at i+Land Nagasaki.

Continuous Innovation Boosts Satisfaction

Thanks to the QR1’s user-friendliness and operational efficiency, i+Land Nagasaki plans to expand its use to other areas, such as children's play spaces. This will further enhance convenience for guests.

On Iojima Island, you can watch the sunrise from your room window and enjoy a stunning sunset from the opposite side of the island while cycling. The resort offers 300 bicycles free of charge for overnight guests, so transportation is never an issue.

Even if you're not into cycling, the resort’s shuttle bus makes it easy to get around and access the various facilities scattered across the vast grounds. There are three breakfast venues to choose from, and you’re free to visit all three if you like. The famous Nagasaki castella cake is freshly made in-house with special care.

Whether you’re enjoying a lively stay with friends and family, a relaxing getaway as a couple, or staying in a room with a dog-friendly lawn right outside, i+Land Nagasaki caters to all kinds of accommodations.

QR1 continues to evolve, supporting unrestricted access to everything the resort has to offer.
