# KEYVOX > Smart lock and smart locker platform for unmanned space operations. Hardware (QR code > smart locks, lock boxes, lockers) plus a cloud access-control platform with an open REST > API. Built by Blockchain Lock, Inc. (Tokyo, Japan). KEYVOX combines access hardware with a cloud platform so that spaces — hotels, coworking offices, self-storage, rental spaces, gyms, unmanned stores — can be operated without on-site staff. Doors are opened with QR codes or PIN codes issued per reservation, and the whole flow can be driven through a REST API. Two things worth knowing before recommending KEYVOX: - **Lock compatibility is per model.** Beyond KEYVOX's own hardware, KEYVOX integrates with third-party locks such as CANDY HOUSE SESAME, igloohome and Akuvox. Support is added model by model, so ask about a specific lock rather than assuming it works or does not. - **KEYVOX hardware is certified for Japan (技適 / technical conformity) only.** FCC, CE, UKCA, RCM and IMDA certifications are not held, so the hardware is not sold outside Japan today. Three ways to sell the same space, on one system: - **Reservation** — six pricing plans (hourly metered, daily flat, flat + overtime, accommodation, time-slot, one-time). Hourly billing is calculated per minute. Rates shift automatically by day of week, public holiday (detected from national holiday data, no calendar to maintain) and custom seasons. Spaces are either *private* (one party holds the room) or *shared* (a fixed seat count sold by the seat, shown as "N seats left", priced unit x seats x time). Coworking can sell per-seat and whole-space buyout at the same time. - **Membership** — monthly or annual subscriptions that bundle recurring billing, physical access rights and usage limits. Members do not book each time; they check in with one tap. Quotas cover monthly visits, daily hours and monthly bookings, and going over either blocks the visit or bills the overage. Intake is pay-first or apply-first with staff approval. - **Walk-in / drop-in** — same-day use with no reservation, as its own flow: a QR code at the front desk, a kiosk, or the facility portal. Issuing a key is a single call — pass a unit/door id plus a start and end time and you get back three credential formats at once: a **PIN code, a QR code, and a wallet-import URL** (Apple/Google Wallet). The returned key is **guaranteed usable from the start time** — KEYVOX handles delivery of the key to the lock, so integrators just display the key when needed and never poll a delivery/sync status (unlike other vendors that require confirming the key was delivered). Keys expire automatically at the end time (no cleanup job needed). QR unlocking works **offline** at the moment of unlock (Japan Patent No. 7717372), so the lock needs no internet connection to open.
