Can BX1 be used standalone?+
Yes. Use the KEYVOX Basic mobile app with no monthly subscription required. App-based lock/unlock and access permission sharing are available.
What can I do with QR1 LE integration?+
Pairing with QR1 LE unlocks all advanced features including high-speed QR code authentication, PIN code unlock, and offline QR technology. One QR1 LE can also control multiple BX1 units (Patent No. 7717415).
Can it be installed outdoors?+
When closed, it has JIS C0920 Protection Grade 5 water resistance and supports outdoor installation. However, please consult us in advance for locations with direct sunlight, extreme heat/humidity, or coastal environments.
What happens if the batteries run out?+
Runs approximately 10 months on 2 AA batteries. Even if batteries are depleted, you can power it via the USB-C (5V1A) port with a mobile battery to open the box.
Can it be wall-mounted?+
Yes. By removing the shackle (handle), it can be mounted on a wall. Supports both door knob hanging and wall mounting.
Can I check if a key has been checked out?+
By using the optional beacon (sold separately), you can check whether keys are currently checked out. Note that this does not provide 100% accuracy.
How is it different from a smart lock?+
BX1 doesn't replace or add to your door lock. Instead, it enables smart handover while keeping your existing physical keys. Ideal for doors where electric locks or smart locks can't be installed, with lower deployment costs.
